A Peak Inside the Facebook Campus...

Brad is enjoying working there so far. Even though it was hard being apart there are some fun perks there that made our absence from each other tolerable. One of the best is that they feed him all 3 meals a day! What's even better is I can come there and eat dinner with him! They even have high chairs for the kids. We've already met a cute little boy there when we visited. So even if there are a few nights where he has to work late on campus, at least I know we can still have dinner (amazing dinners) as a family.

Another thing that's neat is how they have the place decked out. The building was all nice and new when it was previously inhabited by Sun Microsystems, but FB gutted it and kind of left it with a modern unfinished look intentionally. Gives it a loft feel. They have someone doing artwork all over the walls too which is kind of cool. Really neat vibe.

Poor Brad, notice the blood shot red eyes in the last pic. Since we weren't up there with him for so long he used all that extra time to work more. He would text me at 10pm, 2am, etc saying good night so I arrived to a very tired husband.

Getting to Know Sunnyvale: Murphy's Ave...

There are a few blogs I read that either have a weekly post or just an occasional subject about getting to know your own town. I always find it so interesting. I'm not going to start a series on this, but in light of us moving to our new home, I wanted to really get to know our new city. Sunnyvale has a historic Avenue called Murphys Avenue which sums up Sunnyvale's Old Towne. I LOVE it. It pretty much has everything you need on one Avenue. Cafes, bistros, gelato, lounges, Irish pubs, pizzaria/Italian, vintage shops, etc. It definitely gives me a similar vibe to the Old Townes in SoCal, but a little bit more on a smaller scale.

Since we had Samantha with us we didn't make it a late night. We walked the Avenue, stopped in a couple stores, picked up some gelato and headed home. Of course we couldn't be out with Samantha without watching her meet new friends. That girl attracts people like crazy! It's fun. She's fun. So is my hubs. I love them =)

P.S.
After we put the babe to bed, we rented the movie Midnight in Paris. Definitely my current favorite right now.  I could download that whole album and wear all their clothes EVERY DAY. I highly recommend the movie.
On our way to pick up Dadda.

Let's Do This!

So I read this one blog called Chestnut Mocha. It's about the sweetest couple who take AMAZING pictures and really capture their romance. I love it. I got tagged to do a post about 11 things about myself. For once I'm kind of in the mood to do one of these so here it goes.

  1. I have many phobias...like not wanting to feel heart pulses...my own if I can help it.
  2. I like Star Wars
  3. I have a TON of red shoes and I don't even try to shop for them. They somehow make it into my closet.
  4. I like the way my baby smells more when she doesn't bathe vs bathing... weird?
  5. I'm jealous of my husbands perfect feet.
  6. I'm left handed, but I knit right handed and cut with scissors with either hand
  7. My favorite place in the world is London
  8. My Favorite date night would be a night out in Downtown LA with my hub
  9. I really like bacon (going on day 3 of having for breakfast)
  10. I like smooshed faced dogs
  11. Sometimes I laugh so hard it actually triggers the crying reflex in my brain and I start really crying. It's kinda crazy, and really funny.
So nooooow I need to tag 11 more people. Let me just say this, in the past I haven't participated in these tag posts so if I tag you and you don't participate... I totally understand, but if you have the time it's super fun =)

Baby, Bubbles, and Breezy...

Things are starting to simmer down here in our new home. With all the moving and organizing poor Samantha hasn't been getting the kind of attention I normally give her. It's good because she's practicing playing on her own and since she won't be an only child for much longer I encourage the alone play. But at the same time she needs some play time with mommy.

We ventured out to our first park since moving here to Sunnyvale. Oh my is everything so beautiful up here. TONS of trees. It was 54 degrees and kind of windy, but I had my mind made up. On the way there we stopped at Five Guys.  I've heard of it a lot from my East coast blogs I read so I thought we'd stop by there for the first time. We ended up tailgating in the car because it was too windy to eat at the picnic tables. Samantha had so much fun. Any reason not to eat in a high chair gets her all giddy when she eats.

Samantha played and laughed a lot on the swings, went back an forth in the tunnels, and played in the sand. She even interacted with some other kids. When we got home we decided to continue playing outside and bust out some bubbles. It's seriously one of the sweetest things seeing little children (especially your own) play with bubbles.

Things are heading off to a good start. Can't wait to share more with you all!

Within Two Weeks...

Within two weeks we found out Samantha had Roseola AND a UTI (thank you for all the sweet encouragement and prayers), we visited Dadda (Brad) who is already up north at his NEW JOB. Our reunited family for that weekend looked at our new house we'll be renting when Samantha and I move up there, I did some last minute shopping for the colder weather up north, I left a part of my heart in LA, the movers packed everything up and fit my hole house in a truck with room to spare (the truck could fit 3 of my houses... crazy!). Now I'm staying with family until I tie up a couple more loose ends down here before we get to FINALLY be a family again. I miss Brad SO MUCH and I miss seeing him be a sweet father to Samantha. I hate the idea of leaving everyone down here, but I'm ready to move on and have our family be complete again (FYI other than visiting him that one weekend it will almost be a month that we've been apart due to him starting his job early and us waiting to move out of our current place.) I can't wait to start blogging about our new life. I already have fun plans I can't wait to share with everyone.

I hope your January of 2012 is going well. =) Ours flew by!

She's Got the Fever...

And it's not the Bieber kind thank goodness...

My poor baby girl. I was putting her to bed the other evening and she felt a little warm. 102 temp. Ah! My first fever experience with my baby! So naturally I called the nurse every 4 hours asking what I needed to do, plus gave regular updates on Facebook to get input from other moms. I feel a little ridiculous. Hopefully I'll be more pro next time around. The highest her fever got was 103.6 in the Dr. office. I was so thankful we were there.  They told me the typical stuff for fevers and sent us home.

As much as I hate seeing my baby girl suffer, I couldn't help having a little part of me loving how much she was in cuddle mode. We almost cuddled on my bed ALL DAY watching Baby Einstein and chick flicks. I got her oyster crackers and Gatorade and I had my Thai food. We picnicked on grandmas quilt she made for Samantha while we ate on my bed. As of now she still has a fever, but it's in the 100 range and she's peppy enough to roam and play a little.

I'm praying she gets better very soon, but maybe remembers how much fun it was to cuddle with momma and possibly do it again...wishful thinking.
